Dr Kirsti Samuels
Kirsti is the Founding Partner and Principal of KS Insight. She is an experienced mediator, facilitator and coach. She brings over 15 years of experience providing peace meditation and leadership support to countries and companies seeking innovative approaches to complex problems. She has worked with executive teams, senior country leadership, and armed rebel groups. Clients range from the President of the Comoros Islands, the leadership of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement, the US Department of State, the Clinton Global Initiative, the United Nations, the World Bank, to the American Hospital Association, and fortune 500 companies.
Kirsti holds a Doctorate in Law from Oxford University, a Masters in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School, and a Bachelor of Science and Law from Sydney University. Kirsti is a co-founder and Board member of the Adaptive Leadership Network, and a founding Board member of the Harlem Wellness Center.
Saffron is a Partner and the Design Lead at Insight. She has 20 years of design experience with a focus on human centered design. She is a talented teacher of design at universities in Melbourne, Australia. Her specialty is innovative problem solving and creating a journey and experience through design. Saffron is trained in IDEO’s design thinking methodology which she pairs with creative insights derived from decades of award winning design work. Her expertise ranges from interior and graphic design to exhibition design for Museums and Galleries, to facilitating complex problem solving using design principles.
Victoria is an Executive Assistant at Insight. She is an unmatched organizer, and is studying for her Bachelor at The City College of New York. She is a talented chef and baby-whisperer and a fluent Spanish speaker.
Nessa is an Associate at Insight. The focus of her work and research is the impact of armed conflict on vulnerable groups (women, youth, children) and the inclusion of those groups in peacebuilding. She has five years experience in direct service provision for children and youth, and has worked and volunteered for UN Agencies, War Child Canada and USA, the International Rescue Committee, and the YMCA.
She holds a Masters of International Affairs from Columbia University, a Masters of International Security from Sciences Po, and a Honours Bachelor of Arts in Peace, Conflict, and Justice from the University of Toronto.
Mitzi is an Affiliate Consultant at Insight and an Adaptive Leadership expert. Mitzi Johnson is also the Speaker of the House, Vermont Legislature. She is the 91st Speaker and third female Speaker of the House. She is recognized for establishing collaborative working relationships across diverse stakeholder groups and creating a transparent and inclusive process. Mitzi earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies and International Development from the University of Vermont and a Master in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School where she was a member of the teaching team for Adaptive Leadership. Mitzi lives on an island in Lake Champlain in a home she designed and built. In her far-too-little spare time she enjoys carpentry, kayaking, knitting, hiking and gardening.

Professor Ron Heifetz, King Hussein bin Talal Senior Lecturer in Public Leadership, Harvard Kennedy School, co-developed the adaptive leadership framework and has been a crucial mentor.
Professor Heifetz speaks extensively and advises heads of governments, businesses, and nonprofit organizations throughout the world. His research focuses on creating a conceptual foundation for the study of leadership, creating teaching, training, and consulting methods for leadership practice, and building the adaptive capacity of organizations and societies. He is the author of the classic leadership texts, Leadership without Easy Answers, (1994), Leadership on the Line: Staying Alive through the Dangers of Leading with Marty Linsky (2002), The Practice of Adaptive Leadership: Tools and Tactics for Changing your Organization and the World, (2009) with Marty Linsky and Alexander Grashow.
A graduate of Columbia University, Harvard Medical School, and the Kennedy School, Ron Heifetz is a physician and cellist.
